ABOUT ME
Hello, I am Francisca Hakes. I'm a Texa-Rican (half Puerto Rican and half Texan) and I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley playing as a kid in the ditches next to the cotton fields. That is where the name Cotton Blossom Photography comes from. I love nature, animals, and of course my cowboy boots. My favorite people are my husband and 3 kids.
I started photography while I was in graduate school working on a dual major in writing, and cultural studies. Photography was meant to supplement my work as story teller; yet, the more I learned about the medium I fell in love with it. Now I let my photography tell its own story.
It was a hard decision to give up my professional 9-5 career but to be a full time photographer and writer is my dream come true. As time passes so fast there is not much I can hold on to but, I can always look back on the photos. I hope I can give you pictures you will cherish!
